Welcome to Parkside!

We are so happy that you and your child are going to be part of our Parkside community. We understand that due to the current situation, we have been unable to provide a traditional transition to our school. In light of this we have provided a few things detailed on this page, to help your child settle into our Parkside Family.

Things to do over the Summer

We have a few thing's that we will be giving to you by the end of this term, for you to complete with your child over the summer.

Paper Plate

We will be providing a paper plate for you to decorate in which ever way you like. This is your plate and it can be covered in your favourite things, favourite colours and craft materials or pictures of yourself and your family. This will be used for our class display.

PE Bag

We will be providing a PE bag with your child's name on for them to decorate and design in whichever way they want. You can draw on the canvas material with felt tips, inks, dyes and fabric paint.

All about me sheet.pdf

All About Me Sheet

Over the summer we would like you to complete this "All about me" sheet with your child. This will help us to get to know them better at the start of term and inform our planning.

Tapestry

At Parkside we use an online learning journal called Tapestry to record your child's learning in Reception and our Preschool.

You will be sent an email from us to activate your own account. This will allow you to see any photos and videos that have been taken of your child at school and read any observations that the EYFS team have made of them.

You will also be invited to add to your child's journal as the year progresses. We have provided a video tutorial to support you with the logging in process.
