Welcome from the class teacher

Hi, my name is Marion Tooze and I have worked at Parkside for over twenty years. It really is a great place to be, with every day being different, fun and full of learning. I love teaching all the subjects, but have a particular passion for art and maths. You will often find me with an apron on, covered in paint, ink or clay!

I teach in Year 5, which is the penultimate year in primary school where we encourage the children to become more independent and more aware of the world around them. We learn about so many things: ancient China, farming and food, Pablo Picasso, David Attenborough and the Ancient Greeks. We also go swimming, learn how to ride a bike on the road safely and take part in forest school. However, the highlight of the year is a residential trip where we live on a ship for a week and learn how to sail, kayak and climb amongst other things. It really is a great year!
